NATIONAL MISSION FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE (NMSA) – RAINFED AREA DEVELOPMENT (RAD)

Along with the conservation of natural resources, the development of rainfed areas is a key factor in meeting the increasing demand for food production in the state. For this purpose, the Government of India launched the “National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA)” from 2014-15 to specifically increase agricultural productivity in rainfed areas. Under this initiative, programs include the development of rainfed areas, value addition and agricultural development activities, climate management, and sustainable agriculture. For the year 2025-26, a budget provision of ₹1.53 crore has been made by the Government of India for the development of rainfed areas under this scheme.
