To provide assistance in case farmers or agricultural laborers are injured or die during the use of agricultural machinery, the government has launched a scheme called the “Mukhyamantri Kisan Evam Khetihar Mazdoor Jeevan Suraksha Yojana”.
Under this scheme,
- in the event of death, assistance of ₹3.0 lakh is provided;
- in case of permanent disability, ₹1.0 lakh is provided;
- and for partial permanent disability, assistance ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹40,000 is given to the affected person.
In 2024-25, ₹19.20 lakh was spent under this scheme, benefiting 24 affected farmers. For the year 2025-26, ₹20 lakh has been allocated for this scheme.
