The Centrally Sponsored scheme is being implemented under National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) since 2015-16 in the state with the aim to develop sustainable models of organic farming / natural farming through a mix of traditional wisdom and modern science to ensure long term soil fertility buildup, resource conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, to increase soil fertility and production of healthy food without the use of agro chemicals. The main components of the scheme includes management cost for cluster formation & capacity building and incentives to the farmers as DBT on organic/natural farming inputs.
PKVY – Organic Farming
Under the scheme, Govt of India approved 100 cluster in 2017-18 and 75 cluster (20 ha each) in 2018-19 to promote organic farming with three year activities. During the year 2022-23, the scheme activities were implemented in 175 groups/clusters covering an area of 4344.15 ha, 7480 farmers and funds amounting to Rs 960.94 lakhs are utilised.
For the year 2023-24 (third year) a proposal of Rs 468.68 lakh has been submitted to Govt of India for funding.
PKVY – BPKP
The Govt. of India have integrated the ‘Bhartiya Prakritik Krishi Padhatti’ under PKVY scheme during the year 2020-21 for 3 years based action plan approved by the GOI. Natural farming is being promoted through service providers and 605 groups covering an area of 12516.71 ha and 31366 farmers have been registered on PGS India Portal up to 2022-23. The funds released by GOI (50% of 1st year) amounting to Rs 326.65 lakh have been utilised.
A proposal of 953.40 lakh has been submitted to Govt of India for funding during 2023-24 to complete 2nd year scheme activities.
