The budget provision of Rs 18.00 crores has been made for implementation of this scheme during the current financial year 2023-24. The scheme has following component:
BADHBANDI (FENCING)
Monkeys and wild animals are a huge threat to the crop production because they damage the crops & thereby inflict great loss to the farmers. In view of this, the Department of Agriculture started a scheme “Mukhya Mantri Khet Sanrakhshan Yojana” w.e.f. 2016-17 to protect the crops of farmers from this menace. Now, this scheme is a component of the “Mukhyamantri Krishi Utpadan SanrakshanYojna” and is known by the name of Badhbandi (Fencing).
Under this component, there is a provision of 70% subsidy to the farmers for installation of Solar Fencing, Interlink Chain Fencing, composite Interlink Chain Solar Fencing and Barbed Wire fencing for the financial year 2023-24, as per their requirement. Department have the registered/ approved service providers for the installation of Solar Fencing and Composite Interlink Chain Solar Fencing in the farmers field whereas, Interlink Chain Wire and Barbed Wire may be got installed by the farmer himself, as per approved guidelines of the Department.
During financial year 2022-23 Rs. 40.00 crores were spent under the component benefitting 1510 number of farmers. In current financial year 2023-24 there is a budget provision of Rs. 18.00 crores for implementing the scheme in the field, out of which 16.71crore have been allocated to field functionaries.
