MUKHYAMANTRI KRISHI UTPADAN SANRAKSHAN YOJANA (Badhbandi)

BADHBANDI (FENCING)
Crops in the state suffer significant damage from monkeys and wild animals. To prevent this, the state government launched the “Mukhyamantri Crop Protection Scheme” in 2016-17.

From 2022-23, this scheme was merged under the “Mukhyamantri Krishi Utpadan Sanrakshan Yojana” and renamed as “Solar Fencing.” Under this scheme, farmers are provided a 70% subsidy, since 2023-24, for installing solar-powered fences, interlink chain fences, solar-interlinked chain fences, and barbed wire fences, based on their requirements.

The solar-powered fences and solar-interlinked chain fences are constructed by registered service providers appointed by the department, while the interlink chain and barbed wire fences are installed by the beneficiaries themselves according to departmental guidelines.
In 2024-25, an expenditure of ₹200.00 lakh was incurred under this scheme, covering 954.78 hectares, establishing 1,102 units and benefiting 1,522 farmers. A budget of ₹15 crore has been provisioned for the year 2025-26.
