The government has launched the “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme” to provide assured irrigation to farmers, especially in remote areas where there is no continuous electricity supply, so that crop production and productivity can be increased.
Under this scheme, it is proposed to establish the necessary infrastructure for water lifting for agricultural irrigation using solar pumps in the state. The scheme provides 85% assistance for installing pumping machinery at individual and community levels for small and marginal farmers, and 80% assistance for medium and large farmers.
