RASTRIYA KRISHI VIKAS YOJANA – DPR COMPONENT (RAFTAAR)

The “National Agriculture Development Scheme” has been implemented to achieve a 4% growth rate in agriculture and allied sectors.

The main objectives of this scheme are to encourage states to invest in agriculture and allied sectors, to provide flexibility to states in the process of planning and implementing agricultural programs, to prepare district- and state-level agricultural plans according to agricultural climate, technology, and availability of natural resources, to ensure that these plans are made considering local needs, crops, and priorities, to increase farmers’ income from agriculture and allied sectors, and to bring substantial changes in production and productivity in these sectors.

For the implementation of this scheme, in addition to agricultural universities and horticultural universities, the Agriculture Department of Himachal Pradesh, State Agriculture Marketing Board, Industries Department, and Horticulture Department of Himachal Pradesh are also involved.

The Government of India has made a budget provision of ₹28.56 crore for this scheme for the year 2025-26. Under this component, the Government of India has so far released ₹12.90 crore.
