To promote agricultural engineering and mechanization of hill farming in the state, the government launched a new scheme, the “State Agricultural Mechanization Program”, in 2018-19.
In the current year, under this scheme, equipment such as fodder cutters, maize shellers, wheat threshers, sprayers, brush cutters, toolkits, S.S. Plows, M.B. Plows, seed bins, and water tubs are being provided to farmers with a 40–50% subsidy from the government.
For the implementation of the scheme, the state government has made a budget provision of ₹1.00 lakh for the financial year 2025-26. Additionally, ₹3.25 crore has been re-appropriated from the Himachal Agriculture Scheme and allocated for this program.
