Control

Termites: Damage sprouted plants in non-irrigated areas of lower hill areas.

1. Treat the seed with Chlorpyrifos 20 E.C. (4 ml/kg seeds).
2. Mix 2 Litres of Chlorpyrifos 20 E.C. with 25 Kg. of sand and apply it to the field at the time of sowing per hectare.
3. Collect the stubble of previous crop at one place and destroy them.
4. Destroy termite mounds along with the queen if found near the fields.

Locusts / Grasshopper: Cause the damage to the germinating wheat plants. Many times they cause a lot of damage in valleys and lower mountain areas.

 

Spray Folidol 2% dust @25 Kg/Ha as Locusts/ Grasshoppers come to wheat & barley crops from nearby grass-fields, hence treat these places also.
Armyworm: Eats the tender leaves of the crop and destroy the field one after another.

Collect and destroy caterpillars.
Aphid: This insect causes harm by sucking the juice from the leaves. As a result, it proves to be a hindrance in the formation of grains.

Spray 50 gm. Thiamethoxam 25 W.G. per 500 litres of
water or 500 ml. Quinalphos 25 E.C. Dissolve in 500 litres
of water.
